Understanding financial statements is essential to the success of your current business or creating accurate projections for your potential business. The first part of this two-part workshop covers the basics of the balance sheet, income statement, and the statement of cash flows. This workshop is designed for both business owners and prospective business owners.

Your Presenter: Rose Creps

Rose Creps has a Bachelors Degree in Accounting and a Masters Degree in Global Business Administration both from Southern New Hampshire University.  She previously worked as a financial consultant and an accounting manager.  Aside from her financial expertise, she has significant experience in training and education. Rose joined AVCOG in September 2007 providing business counseling services through the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) program.  Counseling includes business/market planning, financial forecasting and cash flow budgeting, internal management, loan packaging and workshop/seminar production. 

Rose has worked with clients in all stages of business development that include: 

  • Having a start-up idea of wanting to get started in business
  • Assisting clients with development of a commercial loan package
  • Existing businesses in distress
  • As a coach with existing business owners wanting an outside party to talk to about their business
  • Part of Strategic development teams with Farms for the Future program 

As an SBDC counselor, Rose is aware of other resources that are in place to help our small business owners in the state of Maine.
