ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORS

John Stevens

John Stevens is an instructional math and technology coach for Chaffey Joint Union High School District who has also taught high school Geometry, Algebra 1, middle school Math, Service Learning, and Robotics, Engineering, and Design since 2006. He has served as the go-to guy for trying new, crazy, and often untested ideas to see how well they will work.

He runs a site called Would You Rather? which is dedicated to getting students talking about math. He is the co-author of The Classroom Chef, a book designed to help teachers take risks, and the author of Table Talk Math, a book for families and schools looking to have more math-based conversations in the classroom and beyond. Matt Vaudrey

Matt Vaudrey is the Educational Technology Coach for Bonita Unified School District who has taught 7th grade, seniors, and most math classes between. Matt brings risk-taking to the forefront of the classroom. His students — kids and adults — build confidence and motivation by taking risks in a safe environment where failure is cheap. His book, The Classroom Chef, is available on Amazon and online resources are available at classroomchef.com.
