Forming a Nonprofit in Illinois

This workshop will explain how to incorporate a nonprofit in the state of Illinois, fill out IRS tax-exemption forms, register with the Illinois Attorney General’s Office, methods to utilize to locate nontraditional funding sources, and how to make a social impact!

1  . Types of nonprofits are defined (501c3s, 501c4s, Private Foundations, Public Charities, etc.).

2. Board selection and bylaws construction is explained.

3. How to submit registration paperwork for various government agencies is explained.

4. Various nonprofit funding sources are defined.

5. The importance of social impact through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), social entrepreneurship, and social enterprise structures are explained

 

Presenter: Dawn Epting is the President of the Nonprofit Development Center (NPDC) based in Chicago.  Dawn obtained a Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA) from SIUE and a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Maryland and has served in the U.S. Air Force as a budget analyst.
