This workshop will focus on the many aspects of the Act that can get an employer in trouble. We will cover overtime pay and other aspects of pay required under the Act. In addition, we discuss a variety of employee handbook issues that deal with paid time off and the potential liability an employer can face if these policies are not worded correctly.

Dennis J Dunlap SPHR, SHRM SCP
Dennis has over 35 years experience in Business and Human Resources. He was the Senior Vice President, Human Resources, for a fortune 500 financial services organization. He played a significant role with this organization by leading the HR function on 14 acquisitions.
Dennis currently works as a human resources consultant with a number of local and county governments and small businesses. His concentration over the past 15 years has been in the compensation and employee relations areas. Dennis serves as the part time Human Resources Director for Boone, Clinton, and Ripley Counties. He is also a certified SCORE Mentor.
He is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and holds the designation of SPHR and SHRM SCP. Dennis has presented programs on developing the employee handbook and conducting investigations involving harassment for the Association of Indiana Counties and IMPACT
Dennis has also worked as a Career Management Coach with Right Management.
He has served as a MAP faculty member since 2002 , teaching courses in Human Resources Management and Organizational Behavior and the Business Career Seminar course.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in education from Northern Illinois University and an MBA degree from Butler University
