It’s about Power and Control: The Dynamics of Domestic Violence

This interactive training provides an overview of the dynamics of domestic violence and the impact that domestic violence can have on individuals and families that you serve. We will talk about how we define domestic violence, tactics perpetrators use to obtain power and control over their partners, myths and realities about domestic violence and a  discussion on “why does she stay?”  You will learn how you and your agency can effectively support domestic violence survivors. Come with a desire to explore this difficult and complex topic, share with others, have some fun, and leave with some new knowledge and ideas about working effectively with families who are experiencing domestic violence.
