Small Business Finance: What You Need to Know

If you are a small business owner or plan to become one, this workshop will help you explore what you need to know about business finances from figuring out your break-even point to understanding your tax responsibilities. Designed for small business owners without a financial background, this workshop helps you identify the key financial factors that drive your business--allowing you to avoid common pitfalls. You will learn how to develop a cash flow forecast to determine your business’s financing needs. The last part of the workshop focuses on the many alternative ways to source money for investment in your new or growing business. We cover everything from the pros and cons of investing money you already have to internet-based crowd finding, bank borrowing and SBA-backed loans. A representative of the SBA will be on hand to answer questions.
