TCA's Environmental Committee Presents an Information Session on Radon
Radon is hazardous when it reaches high levels. It is the second leading cause of lung cancer and accounts for 1300 cases annually in Ontario. It is naturally found in the outdoor environment and is present inside every building/home. Seven percent of homes in Canada have high radon, and it can ONLY be detected by testing for it.
Join TCA's Environmental Committee on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, for an information session on Radon. Our expert speakers will share their insight on what Radon is, how it enters into buildings and homes, the health impacts, how to test for it, lowering radon levels in existing buildings, updates on Radon in building codes (OBC and NBC) and mistakes to avoid in new construction.
