SCORE Workshop - Understanding Non-Profits 

Have you ever thought about starting a nonprofit? Are you ready to start up a nonprofit? Do you have a nonprofit that is struggling to raise money? Is you nonprofit ready to move up to the next level?

Join us for a FREE SCORE Workshop: "Understanding Non-Profits" in which you'll learn:

  • The various classifications of non-profits, how they govern and how they fund themselves.
  • Learn about the 4 rules of a strong nonprofit brand.
  • Can your nonprofit raise money through crowdfunding?
  • How to have a strong, diversified board.
  • Tips and strategies to make your nonprofit successful.

Our presenter is Marshall Persky

Marshall retired from the US Army Reserve after 22 years of service. His military career included a tour in Viet Nam. Marshall's business career was spent at Ryerson Steel. (#1 US Metals Distributor). He began in inside sales in 1968 at the Wallingford Connecticut plant. During his career at Ryerson he held the positions of General Manager and Vice President and retired after 40 years as Vice President Global Sales.

In his effort to give back to the community, Marshall has served on several non-profit boards to including: Third Level Crisis Center, (Board President), Red Cross, Pavilion Nursing Care, Rotary, and SCORE (Chapter Chairman 2012 - 2014)

As a nine year certified SCORE mentor Marshall has mentored a wide variety of clients. His mentoring Skills include: Business Finance & Accounting, Business Operations, Business Strategy & Planning, Non Profits, Start Ups, Sales, Marketing & Public Relations, Supply Chain Management, Business Planning.
