ABOUT the COURSE:

In today’s market, leaders can’t assume that their prestigious title will cause others to follow them. Instead, it’s important that leaders understand how to influence others in a way that inherently makes them want to follow. In this course, participants will learn various ways to influence others in the workplace, techniques for engaging with various personalities, the importance of emotional intelligence (EQ) for leaders and how to identify high and low EQ in themselves and others, and a few tips for providing quality customer service.

  • Explain emotional intelligence (EQ) and identify low and high EQ behaviors in self and others.
  • Identify difficult personality types and techniques for engaging with each.

ABOUT our Instructor:

Andrea Dennis currently serves as an independent contractor and consultant providing professional development and communication services to private and public sectors. Andrea has over 15 years of training and development experience working with adultlearners, a master’s with a dual concentration in Management and Public Administration from Webster University, a bachelor’s in English from Methodist University, and an associate’s in Paralegal Studies from Fayetteville Technical Community College.

Prior to relocating to Atlanta, Andrea began her career in higher education at Fayetteville Technical Community College, where she trained a diverse adult learner population that included Army and Air Force personnel at Fort Bragg and Pope AirForce Base in North Carolina. Since moving to Atlanta, she has continued to work with adult learners in a higher education setting and has taught various communications,management, and leadership courses for several colleges and universities in the metro Atlanta area to include Georgia State University-Georgia Perimeter, Devry University,Strayer University, and Shorter University. In 2015 she transitioned her career to train in the government sector and has served asTraining and Communications Coordinator for the Georgia Department of Public Health and recently received an award from the Centers for Disease Control to train staff at the CDC University.
