In this workshop, you will learn the many features of Mergent Intellect, including how to create customized company/business lists for sales leads, competitors and suppliers; search and access real time company and industry data; and utilize detailed market demographic and household lifestyle data for consumer contact lists.
Taught by Jeanette Jones is founder of Cottrill Research, a provider of supply market research and competitive intelligence services. Her corporate experience includes establishing libraries with research functions for Arthur Andersen and the IT Vendor Management group at Bank One (JP Morgan Chase) and providing research services for Wachovia’s Strategic Sourcing group. In these positions, she routinely researched and wrote about industry and market trends and events, enabling consultants & procurement professionals to make informed critical decisions. In addition to corporate expertise, Ms. Jones served as an adjunct professor at Ohio Dominican University in the Library & information Science Departments and taught research and information literacy skills to students at Collin College and College of Southern Nevada.
Ms. Jones is co-author if Market Intellegience for Procument Professionals: Research, Process and Resources (2014, J. Ross). It details how to develop, execute, and maintain a Supply Market Intelligence program and provides detailed listings of resources that are available for various direct markets and indirect spend categories. She maintains the Cottrill Research Blog, which provides news and analysis about the latest research and information resource offerings for procurement and business professionals, in addition to ProcureSearch, a hub that lists key resources and is continuously updated. She has a Master of Library Science degree from Kent State University and is a member of the Henderson Chamber of Commerce.
