BOOKKEEPING BASICS
The goal of this workshop is to give you a basic understanding of bookkeeping that you will find helpful if you are going to run a small business and possibly keep your own books.
Even if you intend using some sort of computerized bookkeeping system to keep your business accounts, an understanding of bookkeeping fundamentals and terminology will be of assistance as you set up and manage your accounting system. The workshop will also explain how the balance sheet and income statement are extracted from these accounting records.
Presenter: Barry Robertson has over 30 years’ extensive 
experience as a financial and management professional in the hospitality and gaming industries.
He has worked for several leading companies in these industries, spread over seven countries and four continents. Barry has been a volunteer mentor with SCORE® Portland since 2009.
