If you're getting serious about joining the entrepreneurial ranks, you're probably considering launching your own venture or maybe buying a franchise or business opportunity. Starting a business from scratch can be challenging. The good news? You don’t have to start from scratch to have your own business. Consider franchising or buying an existing business. The decision whether to buy an existing business or start a new one hinges on both personal and financial issues.

This workshop will outline significant factors to consider, when evaluating each of the above alternatives including:
  • What management experience is required?
  • Is funding one alternative easier than funding another?
  • Will I control my own destiny?
  • What are the valuation metrics?
  • Learn how to find and evaluate an existing business

Presented by Jeffrey D. Jones, ASA, CBA, CBI, SCORE Counselor and certified mentor.

Jeff is President of Certified Appraisers, Inc., and manages the firm's multidiscipline appraisal practice that includes valuation of businesses, machinery & equipment and real estate.
