River Guardians Trashy Tuesday
Please join Willamette Riverkeeper River Guardians on Trashy Tuesday, August 20, 2019. We'll be hosting TWO sites this month, the first will start at Island Park boat ramp in Springfield, and float down to Alton Baker boat ramp in Eugene. The second effort will begin at Altong Baker boat ramp and take out at Beltline.
SPRINGFIELD:
BYOB: Please meet at at 8:00AM (boaters) at Island Park to unload and we'll shuttle our vehicles to Beltline. SEAT-IN-BOAT PARTICIPANTS: Please park at the Alton Baker boat ramp at 8:30AM. The shuttle crew should arrive shortly to take you to the put-in, and your cars will be available at the take out at the end of the day.
EUGENE:
BYOB: Please meet at 8:00AM (boaters) at Alton Baker boat ramp to unload and we'll shuttle our vehicles to Beltline. SEAT-IN-BOAT PARTICIPANTS: Please park your cars on River Ave. just above the Beltline underpass, on the City park/bike path access side of the street. DO NOT park underneath the overpass. (The access is very risky for two-wheel drive vehicles without extra clearance.) The shuttle crew should arrive shortly to take you to the put-in, and your cars will be available at the take out at the end of the day.
All BYOB paddlers must be able to adequately paddle in class 2 moving water. NO BOAT? NO WORRIES - your RSVP will reserve a seat in a raft or driftboat. Because we will be working from the water, PFDs are REQUIRED, and will be provided for those without - as long as you register ahead of time. Seating is limited!
BRING snacks, water and appropriate layers for the weather. Please wear closed-toe shoes (required), long sleeves and pants. Gloves, pickers, garbage bags, tools, tarps will be provided.
