Join the Institute for Continuing Care Education & Research (ICCER) for a Networking Event on October 15th with speakers Cheryl Sadowski and Kathleen Hunter. Participants will have the opportunity to connect with our speakers, as well as collaborate with one another over small and large group discussion.
Medication use and safety are concerns for older adults, particularly in institutional settings. Current guidelines sometimes provide little guidance for prescribing for older adults, leading to polypharmacy, undertreatment, toxicity, or difficulty managing complex regimens. Appropriate prescribing requires balance with the intentional process of deprescribing.
This presentation will include a review of medication-related problems in seniors, and practical approaches to improving prescribing and medication use practices. This session will also include a review of case studies and hands-on use of tools available for deprescribing.
This networking event is suitable for all levels of care staff, pharmacists, faculty, students, and family members in continuing care. We encourage you to share the event information with those you think would be interested in attending the event. Family members of residents from ICCER member organizations are considered ICCER members and can register for free!
An opportunity to network over coffee and snacks included!
