About the Speaker

Wendy Lazar

Wendy Lazar’s business career started in the early 1980s with the publication of
Women Working Home: The Homebased Guide and Directory, Editions 1 and 2,
along with the founding of the National Alliance of Homebased Businesswomen.
Both identified the growing number of (mostly) women in home businesses and
positively changed the concept of cottage industries to real businesses through
newspaper and magazine articles and frequent radio, television and speaking
appearances throughout the U.S. She then spent 26 years as owner of a direct
mail and e-commerce company working with government and civilian agencies;
schools; military, civic and religious organizations; and individuals. While that
business started at home, the inventory quickly overwhelmed her garage!
