Community Convivencia

A Gathering to Raise Support for Immigrant Accompaniment & Sanctuary Efforts

You are warmly invited to gather with us as a community that believes in the possible. We will come together to hear stories, share passion for this work, and to raise funds in support of the Church Council of Greater Seattle network's grassroots immigrant & asylum-seeker accompaniment efforts.

Enjoy stories from those "on the ground" in the movement right now, live music, potluck food, and local beverages while learning more about the meaning and practice of accompaniment in this critical moment.

Together, our goal is to raise $25,000 to meet the final cost of our Accompaniment program operations and staff in 2019. This programming encompasses accompaniment of individuals navigating the immigration system, as well as supporting congregations offering Sanctuary to those facing deportation and family separation. Two years ago, a grant allowed us to launch this program and step up to stand beside our migrant neighbors in this critical moment. Now, we need you to ensure the program continues, so we can continue to be with them at the moments when it matters most.

Please bring an open mind and open heart, and the desire to contribute financially to the continuance of this vital work at whatever level is meaningful for you.

We also invite you into the practice of potluck, in which we create the gathering together by each bringing a finger-food dish to share. We invite both your creative and simple offerings.

You are uniquely able to make this work possible through your witness and generosity. We are grateful to be here with you as we continue our community efforts to keep families and loved ones together in the face of deportation and detention. We look forward to sharing an evening with you, as we strengthen our collective movement for dignity, safety and belonging of our immigrant and asylum-seeking neighbors.
