Presenter: Jeff Seaver

Jeff Seaver runs Seaver Interactive, a digital marketing and website design firm in Westport, CT. Jeff has been building websites and creating online content for over 25 years and is an accomplished designer/artist, computer expert and teacher. He developed this year's six-part workshop series on digital marketing for SCORE. Jeff teaches at the graduate school level and lectures widely on technology. 

Presenter: Jon Dupree

Jon Dupree owns Calibrate Marketing in Danbury, CT. He brings a unique perspective to digital marketing, combining 20+ years in sales and marketing in the B2B world with extensive technological know-how. Along with collaborations with Seaver Interactive, Jon develops successful content marketing strategies for start-ups and small businesses using email, SEO and social media, and provides in-house mentoring and training for clients.

What makes a business website work? How do you know if your website is successful? This presentation examines elements of a successful web presence, including design, content and usability. We explore options for your own website, domain names, generating traffic from search, email, social media, referrals and responsive design for mobile screens.

This workshop will explore: 

  • The purpose of a website, Website home page design & usability 
  • Trends for 2019 in type, design & color 
  • Understanding terminology such as SEO, CRO, CTR, CTA, UX, UI  
  • WordPress and Content Management Systems 
  • D-I-Y websites (like WIX & SquareSpace) 
  • The User Experience and Interface (UX/UI)
