CNP Winter Tree Identification

This course is an elective course and provides 4 hours toward the completion of the Certificate in Native Plants program.

Just because winter is here and the local flora appears dormant or dead, there is still plenty of interesting botanizing to do. Although the leaves and flowers, which most field guides use to aid in plant identification, are missing, woody plants still have many characteristics which make identification a challenging and rewarding activity. In this course, we will look at how woody plants prepare for winter, what the “key” structures are for identifying winter plants, and get some hands-on practice.

Instructor:  RIchard Clements, PhD.

Topics Include

Fee: $35 for TNPS, Reflection Riding or TVWO members, $45 for non-members

Registration Policy:  As with all Certificate in Native Plants classes, class size is limited.  To give everyone the best opportunity to participate, there is a non-refundable cancellation fee of $10, with the balance refunded if you cancel at least 7 calendar days before the class will be held.  If the class is cancelled by the instructor or the CNP program, registrants will get a full refund.
