On January 22nd, Construction Specifications Institute is hosting a Women in Construction Event at TopGolf in Hillsboro, Oregon from 6pm to 9pm.

The Goal: If you are a leader in the AECO industry, you should bring an employee from your company. If you are an employee in the AECO industry, you should bring a leader from your company. This event is open to anyone who wants to come and participate in the conversation.

BigRentz took a close look at Engineering News-Record's Top 100 contracting firms and Fortune 500 companies. 44% of these top companies have women in executive roles such as vice president and director. However, only 16% have women in C-level roles like chief financial officer and chief marketing officer and only 3 of them are CEOs. Furthermore, only 3% of companies have a female construction manager. Source: https://theundercoverrecruiter.com/construction-needs-more-women/

We will be discussing these and other statistics on women in construction and providing resources to hopefully help increase the number of women in positions of leadership in the construction industry. There will be a pre-recorded speech from Tom Price of Jacobs discussing an organization called Men Advocating Real Change (https://www.catalyst.org/marc/).

There will also be a panel discussion from local women leaders in the AECO industry:
Jennifer Willard of Intel,
Amy Winterowd of JE Dunn,
Dana Johnson of Quantum Construction
Kim Wall of Interface Engineering, and
Ali LaManna of Emerick & Portland Chapter President of CSI

Tickets will cover one drink per person (beer or wine), plenty of appetizers, two hours of golf, as well as the opportunity to network with leaders in the AECO industry.

We are looking for sponsors. Please let me know if your company is interested. We will be happy to put your company logo on all promo material. Sponsor tiers include: Platinum ($500 and above) and Gold ($499-$250).

Net proceeds will be going to Girls Build (Portland) and Girls Garage (Berkeley).
