Most small business owners start out with an incomplete picture of what legal protections are available.  A lack of clarity around IP can mean a significant potential loss in assets and value. Your intellectual property could be easily copied, usually leaving you, business owner, without any recourse.

This workshop will address how you can better protect your IP by knowing what legal protections exist and putting those protections in place early on.

What you'll gain in this workshop:

  • Differentiate among trademarks, copyrights and patents
  • Know when and why each type of IP is needed and the process and cost of obtaining each
  • Understand the impact of having a patent on the chances of getting funded
  • Distinguish between patentability and patent infringement
