This workshop will discuss business entities, common contract terms, employment issues and an introduction to intellectual property.

Part 3 of 4 in the business series.

  • Business Entities Choosing the right one for your business and the process to be followed in order to form your business entity.
  • Common Contract Terms and the Term Sheet – Scope of work, payment term, risk management/allocation.
  • Employment Issues -   Worker classification – employee or independent contractor, At-Will or Contract term, Agency – Responsibility of the employer for her workers’ actions, Employee rights and Employer Responsibilities
  • An introduction to Intellectual Property for Entrepreneurs - Basics of patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret protection and common mistakes to avoid.

Presenters:

Bill Hulsey, Served as lawyer and general counsel to complex, tax exempt organizations for over 25 years., Taught IP Commercialization, Federal Income Taxation and Negotiations at Northeastern and Suffolk Law Schools.

Victor Lebovici, As an Intellectual Property lawyer, managed patent and trademark portfolios for entities varying in size from large corporations to individual inventors.  Negotiated and drafted license, consulting, non-disclosoure and technology based agreements.  Registered to practice before the US Patent and Trademark Office., ,
