The New Way for Mass Small Businesses to Choose Health Insurance

Providing health insurance to employees is a big step for small businesses. There are many ways it can go wrong and many opportunities for success with the right help.

This workshop provides an overview of the health insurance landscape for small businesses in Massachusetts and offer information on how to best navigate through the marketplace. Participants will learn how to provide employees a choice of health plans, while also controlling costs and saving money on coverage. They will also learn about some of the things they don’t even know they don’t know, such as: (1) the average ConnectWell rebate for an employer is more than $3,000, (2) through Health Connector for Business, small businesses can find plans that have comparable services and benefits but cost up to 30 percent less, and (3) small businesses can offer their employees the opportunity to pick the best plan for their individual needs through Health Connector for Business.

This workshop is intended for small business owners and health insurance brokers.

Presenter:  Chaitra Sanders, Chaitra is Distribution Channel and Account Manager for Massachusetts Health Connector (MHC). Chaitra joined the MHC in February of 2018 soon after the launch of the new Health Connector for Business online-shopping platform for small businesses. She serves as the primary service and sales liaison for direct small employer groups, brokers, and other distribution channels.
