February 15, 2020 Presbytery Meeting
Please join the Presbytery of West Virginia for the February 15, 2020 Stated Presbytery Meeting at Riverlawn Presbyterian Church in St. Albans. In addition to the afternoon's business, the morning's educational focus will be a presentation on Telling Our Stories Through Records by Presbyterian Historical Society records archivist David Staniunas.
Before the meeting, you are invited to watch the Overview of the Day: Highlights and What to Expect video, which will be posted on the presbytery website and emailed to participants no later than February 10. It is for all who would like to know more about the business of the day, but it is especially helpful for first-time attendees.
The Presbytery is now providing an opportunity to engage in mission at each Stated Presbytery Meeting, with each commissioner encouraged to bring an item designated by the host church to benefit one of its missions. For the February 15 Stated Presbytery Meeting, Riverlawn has requested hygiene items (toothbrushes, toothpase, soap, shampoo) for Jericho House, which provides shelter, food and essentials for struggling women and children, and the St. Albans Community Food Pantry, which distributes food and hygiene items.
Please remember that the presbytery no longer prints meeting packets except upon request. The packet will be emailed to those who receive our newsletter and posted on the presbytery website on February 5; please either print a copy at home or download the packet in advance to view on your phone or tablet as WiFi will not be available at Riverlawn on the day of the meeting. If you wish to request a printed packet from the presbytery, please contact the office by February 12.
The lunch menu for the meeting is barbecue sandwiches, potato salad, chips, fruit and assorted desserts; the vegetarian option is veggie lasagna. Ice tea, water and lemonade will be available, plus coffee in the morning. Advance lunch payment through Paypal is available through February 7; at the door, you must pay with cash or checks made out to Riverlawn Presbyterian Church. Please note on the registration page here that Pay with Paypal is the first option, and make sure you select the correct option for your desired payment choice.
The deadline for advance registration and childcare is noon on Friday, February 7. It is important to register in advance so lunch will be prepared for you; if you miss this deadline, lunch may not be available.
