The workshop is specially developed for entrepreneurs starting a new business or planning to grow their business.  The three primary considerations are; (a)Choosing a legal business structure, (b) Understanding government rules and regulations, and (c) Buying business insurance.

This workshop will examine:

  • The advantages and disadvantages of operating as a sole proprietorship, partnership, corporation or LLC.
  • Legal and tax requirements.
  • Application of federal, state and local business regulations.
  • Trademark and copyright protection.
  • Insurance.

  Ed is a bankruptcy lawyer who takes a proactive business approach to
  evaluate  the 
underlying economics of the business to determine the best   
  course of action.This might  be a debt restructure, sale of the ongoing business
 
or an orderly liquidation.
  Ed has
provided guidance with respect to debtor creditor issues, loan documents, leases, partnership matters, tax and general contract matters for over 30 years.
His professional experience is as a Trial Attorney for the Department of Justice Tax Division. He was an Associate at Lapin Totz & Mayer and Lidell Sapp Zivley Hill & Laboon law firms, and a Partner at Weycer, Kaplan Pulaski & Zuber and Hoover Slovacek, LLP law firms. Ed is Board Certified in Business Bankruptcy.
