Session Descriptions

Asynchronous Learning for Middle & High School: Dedicated for Math
Time: 9:00 AM-10:00 AM

Math educators can keep expectations high and craft engaging, rigorous lessons that encourage continuous learning outside of the physical classroom. This can be done asynchronously to ensure access for students who are unable to meet with teachers in a live session. This webinar provides concrete ideas and tangible next steps to guide Math teachers as they shift to a distance learning model with a focus on asynchronous learning.  Throughout the session, teachers will actively manipulate various platforms and engage in examples of standards-based asynchronous learning opportunities.

Essential Question: How do we maintain the rigor and engagement with asynchronous distance learning?

Objectives:

  • Set up distance learning expectations
  • Delineate between asynchronous versus synchronous
  • Use the SAMR model to explore instructional strategies within a distance learning environment
  • Explore feedback options with the distance learning

Asynchronous Learning for Middle & High School: Dedicated for ELA
Time: 9:00 AM-10:00AM

ELA educators can keep expectations high and craft engaging, rigorous lessons that encourage continuous learning outside of the physical classroom. This can be done asynchronously to ensure access for students who are unable to meet with teachers in a live session. This webinar provides concrete ideas and tangible next steps to guide ELA teachers as they shift to a distance learning model with a focus on asynchronous learning.  Throughout the session, teachers will actively manipulate various platforms and engage in examples of standards-based asynchronous learning opportunities.

Supercharge In-home Lesson Design
Time: 10:15 AM-11:15 AM

Participants will explore best practices inherent in models such as TPACK, SAMR, and PEERS to super charge your remote lessons. We will also provide a curated list of free technology enhanced resources for elementary, middle, and high school students.

Essential Question: How do we enhance in-home learning experiences by incorporating
best practices in technology integration and virtual learning?

Workshop Objectives: Following this webinar, you will be able to:

  • Make informed decisions regarding inclusion of technology to support effective learning
  • Create learning experiences that consider constraints and possibilities of in-home learning

Supercharge PK-2 Continuous Learning
Time: 10:15 AM-11:15 AM

Continuous learning in a virtual environment is challenging for any age, but these challenges can seem magnified when working with K-2 students. In this session, we will explore best practices inherent in models such as TPACK, SAMR, and PEERS to super charge your remote lessons for young students. We will also provide a curated list of free technology enhanced resources specifically designed to engage early elementary school students.

Essential Question: How can we incorporate best practices in technology integration and virtual learning to enhance in-home learning experiences for K-2 students?

Workshop Objectives:

  •  Make informed decisions regarding inclusion of technology to support effective learning
  • Create learning experiences that consider constraints and possibilities of in-home learning
  • Create learning experiences that target the foundational skills of the K-2 classroom

Asynchronous Learning for Middle & High School: Dedicated for Science
Time: 1:00PM-2:00PM

Science educators can keep expectations high and craft engaging, rigorous lessons that encourage continuous learning outside of the physical classroom. This can be done asynchronously to ensure access for students who are unable to meet with teachers in a live session. This webinar provides concrete ideas and tangible next steps to guide Science teachers as they shift to a distance learning model with a focus on asynchronous learning.

Asynchronous Learning for Middle & High School: Dedicated for Social Studies
Time: 1:00PM-2:00PM

Social Studies educators can keep expectations high and craft engaging, rigorous lessons that encourage continuous learning outside of the physical classroom. This can be done asynchronously to ensure access for students who are unable to meet with teachers in a live session. This webinar provides concrete ideas and tangible next steps to guide Social Studies teachers as they shift to a distance learning model with a focus on asynchronous learning.  Throughout the session, teachers will actively manipulate various platforms and engage in examples of standards-based asynchronous learning opportunities.
