Community mobilization engages sectors in a community-wide effort to address an environmental issue. It brings together policy makers and opinion leaders, local governments, professional groups, religious groups, businesses, and individual community members. Community mobilization empowers individuals and groups to take action to facilitate change.

Michaela Flores is a Certified Prevention Specialist and has served the prevention field since 2013. She is the Youth Programs Director for the Coastal Bend Wellness Foundation in Corpus Christi. Michaela holds a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies and a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership. Along overseeing a YPU and YPI program, Michaela is also versed in coalition work managing one CCP program. Michaela has trained for the State on Ethics, SAPST, Substantiality, and individually created Facilitation, Classroom Management, Involving Rural Counties in Prevention Initiatives, Alternative Activities, Communication, and various ATOD focused presentations.
