WHEN
Virtual Zoom sessions: Sept. 14 - 25 (Mon, Wed, Fri, each week)
@ 10 AM - 12 PM, each session

Independently: Participation in small-group discussions via North Country Health Consortium's Moodle platform. Moodle is a Learning Management System (LMS) that will provide interactive discussions outside of the live Zoom sessions. 

AUDIENCE 
Community Members, First Responders, Healthcare and Human Services Staff, Recovery Coaches

This virtual Ethical Considerations for Recovery Coaches training will combine live Zoom sessions with independent assignments to ensure learners are able to develop the skills and knowledge that the in-person experience would offer, with the flexibility to complete many activities on your own. 

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

  • 3 two-hour Zoom session per week, for 12 hours total Zoom participation on the following days: September: 14, 16, 18, 21, 23, 25
  • 4 hours total of Moodle Participation 

PROGRAM GOALS/OBJECTIVES

Following the training, participants will understand: 

  • How to "stay in your lane" as a Recovery Coach
  • Issues around relationship boundaries and role clarity
  • The Ethical Decision-making process
  • How to develop guidelines for ethical decisions-- Asses, Plan, Implement, Evaluate
  • Confidentiality issues with respect to treatment and other healthcare providers, and non-treatment organizations

PARTICIPANT REQUIREMENTS 

Mac and/or PC, Audio capabilities and/or headphones with microphone, reliable internet connection, access to acceptable browsers: Google Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari

CONTINUING EDUCATION

 This course is pre-approved by Connecticut Certification Board for 16 CEs. NH Board of Alcohol and other DrugAbuse Counselors Professional Performance Categories of Competence: 4,5,12,13,15 & 18 Performance domains:IV & V.

This trianing also meets with CPs Educational Domains for the following Porfessional PerformanceCategories: 4,5,12,13,15, & 18.

(2) If you live or work in the Doorway at Androscoggin Valley Hospital (AVH) catchment area** you are eligible for a full scholarship to participate in this training.

(3) You can also apply for a full scholarship based on financial need, if you live/volunteer outside of the Doorway at AVH Catchment Area (support is NOT guaranteed): Open to individuals and volunteers who are NOT employed with recovery support, treatment, and other health and human service organizations.
