Looking at both sides the seller and buyer of a business, what are they looking for and why. When is the time right to buy or sell a business? Why it pays to be prepared for both sides. How to find out what a business is worth? What is liquidation value? How to negotiate the deal form a seller and buyers point of view. What is “Due Diligence” and why a buyer need to do it? Do I need a road map for selling and buying a business? Samples of selling or buying a business. What is the “Sellability Score” and how it can help positioning the sale of a business? Remember the Price is Right? It’s a guide on how to price a business. What are ratios and why are they important at the buying or selling of a business? Why is Cash-Flow important in buying a business?
What financials are import to have and compare? Why should the buyer ask for a tax returns form the seller?
Why can buyer and seller sometimes not agree on certain transactional issues? Why for example is business valuation the number one deal breaker? This seminar also covers the various models on how to price a business.

 

Speaker Biography

Herman Metzler 

Herman has spent the over 30 years pioneering International Business expansion for US companies. Herman was educated in Germany and began his professional career at the General Electric Company in 1962. He held various positions in International Management and Marketing in various place around the world. In 1984, Mr. Metzler joined Exide Electronics as Vice President, International Operations. He was responsible for all international business activity including Joint Ventures, Technology Licensing Agreements, Acquisitions and Operations. He is a long-time member of the US Department of Commerce District Export Council the World Trade Center of North Carolina and a frequent speaker at various North Carolina business and academic meetings. He is a member of the Asheville SCORE Chapter - High Country Branch and the Raleigh SCORE Chapters.
