Wood Hat Spirits Virtual Tasting

Since we can't be together this year at the Brew in the Lou, we will bring the Lou to you!  Please join us for an exclusive virtual distillery tasting experience on Thursday, October 29 from 6:00 pm until 7:15 pm with Gary Hinegardner,  distiller and owner of Wood Hat Spirits. Let Gary take you on a one-of-a-kind, behind-the-scenes tour of their distilling process using locally grown grains, fruit and nuts to produce award winning Bourbons, Corn Whiskeys and Cordials.

Pick the tasting option of  your choice below. After registering, you will receive a link with a password to use on October 29.  Meanwhile, the product will be delivered to you or you may pick up at the LESA office conveniently located in South County. Registration deadline is October 27.

PACKAGE #1:  Cost is $30 and includes  the following (4) - 1 oz. Samples

Bourbon Rubenesque - a full-bodied bourbon, smooth up front with the full, rounded mouth feel of blue corn that finishes with a complex and delicate warmth. Heartland Spirits Fest named it the best Missouri Whiskey, 2017 & 2019. 100 proof

Aged Blue Corn Whiskey - a gentle, well-rounded mouth feel that only blue corn and a toasted chinquapin barrel can create with a finish so smooth, it's hardly noticeable. American Craft Spirits Association named this the Best Corn Whiskey in 2015. 80 proof

Bloody Dapper Red Corn Bourbon - the newest addition to Wood Hat's collection of bourbons, is a wheated bourbon made with heirloom Bloody Butcher Red Corn. It is smooth up front then rich and mellow yet peppery on the mid-palate with a  pleasing, warm finish. 100 proof

Berry Berry Cordial - a sweet fruity sipper, this handcrafted cordial captures the essence of blackberries and raspberries. It mixes well with sparkling white wine or ice cream and can substitute for a maraschino cherry in mixed drinks.  40 proof

PACKAGE #2:  Cost is $60 and includes  (4)  - 1 oz. Samples as above and (1) 375 ml of Montgomery County Bourbon

Montgomery County Bourbon is a wheated bourbon, surprising the sipper with its up-front smoothness and clean finish.  Wood Hat Spirits' first bourbon named in honor of the county in which it was made and where the corn grew.  100 proof

PACKAGE #3:   Cost is $80 and includes  (4) - 1 oz. Samples as above and (1) signed 750 ml bottle of the new classified Montgomery County Missouri Straight Bourbon Whiskey, the last of Batch #1

Montgomery County MO bourbon bottles were the last of Batch #1, it might peak some interest.

In 2019, legislation was passed and signed into law allowing distsillers who made bourbon in MO from grain grown in MO and aged in MO barrels to be called Missouri Bourbon. Straight bourbon has aged for 2 years. This batch is different from the original due to the pick of the barrels. It is signed by Mr. Wood Hat himself, Gary Hinegardner.
