Will The Real Independent Contractor Please Stand Up

This webinar will address the challenging question facing employers in California, “Do I have employees or independent contractors?”

Our presenter will talk about the Dynamex Decision, as it has become known, which applies a standard that presumes all workers are employees instead of contractors. She will discuss the landmark 2018 California Supreme Court decision in the matter of Dynamex Operations West, Inc., which applies a standard that presumes all workers are employees instead of contractors. In April 2019, California adopted an employment-classification test, which places the burden on employers to demonstrate that every worker is not an employee.

What you will learn:
  • Benefits & Risks of Using Independent Contractors
  • The New ABC Test
  • Borello Test
  • Personal Liability for misclassifications
  • Post-Dynamex Questions
