Simple Steps for Starting Your Business

The Indiana Department of Revenue’s Start Strong webinar is geared towards aspiring entrepreneurs and new business owners. Our goal is to help you get your business started on the right foot.

We’ll cover some basic information about Indiana business taxes including:

How to register to collect and remit state taxes, an overview of common tax types your business may deal with and how to file and pay business taxes correctly. It is also a good opportunity to get your Indiana business tax questions answered by an experienced tax professional.

Nancy Tyree is the Business Outreach and Education Manager for the Indiana Department of Revenue (DOR). She oversees DOR’s outreach program and works with professional organizations, tax practitioners, businesses, and more to provide taxpayer education to Hoosiers. The Business Outreach program produces dozens of publications, guides and presentations each year for a variety of specialized groups to keep our customers informed and compliant with their tax obligations. Nancy is an Indiana University graduate who, prior to joining DOR in 2019, also worked in economic development and coached competitive speech and debate.
