An Evening with Samantha Power

The Jay Heritage Center (JHC) will host a virtual conversation with Samantha Power, former US Ambassador to the United Nations and a Pulitzer Prize-winning author, on February 9th at 6 p.m. President-elect Joe Biden recently picked Power to lead the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)

Power will talk about her best-selling memoir “The Education of an Idealist,” which President Obama called “a must-read for anyone who cares about our role in a changing world.” Called by Forbes “a powerful crusader for U.S foreign policy as well as human rights and democracy” when it named her one of the “World’s 100 Most Powerful Women,” Power has been recognized as a leading voice internationally for principled American engagement in the world. She has been named one of Foreign Policy’s “Top 100 Global Thinkers” and has twice been selected as one of TIME’s “100 Most Influential People.”
