So, You Want to Become a Consultant

Many experienced managers and professionals have an expertise that businesses often seek from consultants. That expertise can be the basis for a solid solo consulting practice, or the foundation for a consulting firm. But if you’re interested in consulting as a career, you need more than a field of expertise — you need clients.

business_shaking_hands.jpg This workshop will help you understand how to differentiate yourself, how to market and sell, how to create long-term client relationships, and what to charge. We’ll also cover the nuts and bolts of a consulting business — proposals, websites, setting up an LLC, what type of insurance you need, and how to structure both project-specific partnerships with other consultants and structure small consulting firms.

There will be a consulting roundtable opportunity following the event.  The date will be anounced at the event.  Those registered for this event, will have the first opporunity to sign up for the roundtable.  The roundtable will be an open discussion with attendees and our presenter.

Presenter: Michael Sandman, ManagingPartner, Fuld & Company -- competitive intelligence consulting firm;, Chairman, SMI Systems, Inc. - startup manufacturer of closed loop controlsystems;, COO Bainbridge, sailcloth manufacturer & distributor;, Eli Sandman Co., family owned manufacturer of materials for composites
