This webinar will discuss The Cannon's mission of democratizing entrepreneurship through helping cities and communities develop innovation districts. Throughout the world, these dense innovation hubs and startup communities have been powerful drivers of innovation and new business and job creation. However, successful innovation economies are few and far between, while many regions are falling behind from an innovation perspective.
The Cannon is an organization that helps communities design, develop, and implement strategies around the creation of vibrant startup communities so that everyone everywhere has access to all the tools and resources needed to be a successful entrepreneur. We will also review how an entrepreneur or small business owner can join our community, virtually, physically or both, and also discuss the resources we have available, from corporate partners, to advisors and investors, to the support of the community.

Presenter: Lawson Gow
Native Houstonian and Rice University graduate, Lawson Gow naturally
began his career in the city he loves most: Houston. After spending several
years working at a venture capital firm, Lawson began to notice the lack of
infrastructure and resources startups needed to thrive in Houston. Motivated
by a grand vision to make Houston a hub for innovation, Lawson left to start
The Cannon, an organization that helps communities design, develop, and
implement strategies around the creation of vibrant startup
communities. Although Lawson is the Founder and President of
The Cannon, he still makes time to write poetry, coach little league, and of
course, spend time with his wife, Lauren, and their adorable dog Truman.
