Are you dealing with employee's being absent due to COVID or other illness? Do you have employees going on maternity leave? Are you wondering how to manage vacation or PTO? Are you unsure how to ensure employees are at work when they are needed the most? Join us for a comprehensive session on how to handle employees' leaves of absence, both protected and unprotected. This session will cover the responsibilities of both the employer and employee when taking time off work.

At the end of this session participants will:
  • Understand the employers role in providing time off to employees
  • Understand the employee's role in time off
  • Identify different forms of leaves of absence (protected and unprotected)
  • Understand how to communicate and document leaves of absence
  • Identify how leaves of absence can benefit employers

About the instructor:

Lindy Culler 

Lindy Culler is the COO for a small business in Gilroy, CA. She was born and raised in Washington state and relocated to California in 2016. She has a BA in Psychology with a minor in Business from Walla Walla University and completed her Certification in Human Resource Management through UC Berkeley Extension in December 2019. Lindy has been actively engaged in all areas of HR management throughout an employee’s life cycle.
