Just want to register? Register Now!

For the 11th year, St. Mary Anacortes will proudly host the Faith on Fire family weekend. Faith on Fire will return to its original venue under the big tent on the lawn, and there will be Kids and Teen tracks offered in addition to thought-provoking presentations during the day, an evening healing service, and closing Mass on the grass on Sunday.

An event schedule is available here.

Featured Guests

Keynote Speaker: Dr. Kerry McMahon of the Encounter School of Ministry in Seattle, Washington. Dr. McMahon is a high-risk obstetrician and brings her healing ministry background into her work environment through the power of prayer. Prior to becoming a physician, she was an elementary school teacher for six years. She is an experienced retreat speaker, certified in the School of Healing Prayer and Unbound Healing Ministry. As an active member of St. Francis Cabrini Parish, she leads the Light of Christ Prayer Group in music and teaching ministries. She and Steve have been married for 31 years and have 3 beautiful children.

Guest Speaker: Abbot Marion Nguyen, OSB of St. Martin's Abbey in Lacey, Washington. Abbot Marion studied philosophy at Saint John Vianney Seminary and the University of St. Thomas, and studied theology at the Gregorian University and the Angelicum. He was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Seattle in 2004, and has been a doctoral student in the Monastic Institute of the Pontifical University of Sant’Anselmo since 2014. Over the years, Abbot Marion has been parish vicar of Saint Joseph parish in Vancouver and the cluster of Saint Edward parish, Saint Paul parish, and Saint George in Seattle, and Sacred Heart parish and Assumption parish in Bellingham; priest administrator of Sacred Heart parish in Bellingham; pastor of Sacred Heart parish; and chaplain of the Newman Catholic Campus Ministry at Western Washington University. Abbot Marion reads and speaks Vietnamese, French, English, Spanish, and Italian.

From 2014-2015, shortly after leaving the Diocesan priesthood to enter monastic life at St. Martin’s Abbey, Lacey, WA, Fr. Marion served as Priest Administrator of St. Mary, Anacortes, and St. Paul, Swinomish Reservation. In his short time here, he re-founded the Faith on Fire Family Weekend as a permanent fixture in the Northern Deanery by inspiring many hearts to establish the well-endowed Faith on Fire Fund to ensure the long term viability of this signature Catholic event of the Pacific Northwest! His unique personal testimony as the son of wartime refugees from Southeast Asia, turned-diocesan priest-turned-monk, and now, turned-Abbot, gives Abbot Marion a unique perspective on the beauty, solace, strength and breadth of our Catholic faith!

Praise and Worship Music: United Praise NW

United Praise NW is a Catholic band out of the Pacific Northwest. They are united under the desire to cultivate the presence of God through authentic worship, and seek to live out unity in the Body of Christ. UPNW plays everything from intimate house sessions and Adoration nights, to retreats and conferences.

Please Help Support Faith on Fire

To ensure the future of the Faith on Fire Family Weekend, we are seeking sponsors and individual donations to offset the cost of the Conference, including tents and facilities, speaker and musician stipends, meals, scholarships, travel, and keeping registration costs affordable for attendees.

Sponsors who donate $600 will be given registration for one family, and will be recognized at the event in print on the program, and with a sign at the Registration booth. See the registration page for more information about sponsors and individual donations.

As individuals we are limited in resources; but as a group of disciples, we can do more, as in the beginning days of our Church. We know as Catholics when we give to organizations that do the work of the Lord, we individually share in the eternal benefits as well. In that spirit - no matter how you participate, time, talent, or treasure, you can be sure you are part of the great scheme of God’s plan to rescue souls.

Donations made to St. Mary Church and the Faith on Fire Family Weekend are tax-deductible. St. Mary’s Tax ID is (53-0196617).

Thank you for your support!

The New Evangelization calls each of us to deepen our faith, believe in the Gospel message, and go forth to proclaim the Gospel. The focus of the New Evangelization calls all Catholics to be evangelized and then go forth and evangelize. {USCCB}
