Learn how to buy the right business at the right price! 

This is a class for anyone who wants to buy or sell a business and doesn’t know where to start. Two highly experienced business brokers, each with 30 years of experience, teach this class and they really know their stuff. The course will cover how to start the process of either buying or selling; how to place a value on a business so that as a seller you receive the best price possible and as a buyer you don’t overpay; a discussion of places to get funding, contingencies, and due diligence.  You will also have the opportunity to make an appointment with the instructors for a one-on-one conversation.

About The Course Instructors:

Mel Weisblatt

Mel has a BS degree from The Ohio State University and a Masters degree from Case Western Reserve University. He has been a Business Broker since 1988 creating his own company Probus Business Sales in 1994. He is a Certified Business Broker associated with the California Association of Business Brokers and serving on its Board of Directors, as President and its Executive Director. He has worked in the non- profit business sector including 10 years on the administrative staff of Case Western Reserve. During his career he has gained tremendous experience in the process of valuing a business and selling it as well as leading a client through the buying process.

John Mittelstet

John has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from Texas Tech University and completed the IBM/Harvard joint President's program.  He holds the Certified Business Intermediary designation from the International Business Brokers Association (IBBA) and is a Certified Business Broker member and past President and board member of the California Association of Business Brokers. He is the Senior Vice President of BTI Group where he has practiced business brokerage for 21 years. Having completed the sale of more than 200 businesses he has acquired a large body of experience in recasting financial statements and tax returns. Key to safely purchasing a business is understanding the value as well as the associated risks of acquiring a business.  BTI Group (dba Business Team) is the largest business brokerage firm on the West Coast, is headquartered in Campbell, CA, and has been helping buyers and sellers of businesses since 1981.
