Pursuing Excellence: A Preview of PENworks 2021

The Wisconsin Center for Performance Excellence  in partnership with The Performance Excellence Network is pleased to host an online webinar discussion on Thursday, August 19: “Pursuing Excellence: Preview of PENworks 2021."

Everything has changed the last 18 months: we’re facing new challenges, such as managing a hybrid or remote workforce, navigating severe staffing shortages, managing supply chain disruptions.  But in many ways, nothing has changed the last 18 months: we still need to satisfy our customers; we still need to engage our teams; and we still need to improve & innovate our processes, operations, and products/services.  It’s a little of “the more things change, the more they stay the same” meets “back to the future.”

The August 19th discussion will feature several “mini-sessions” from PEN’s upcoming PENworks 2021 Conference, each offering one or two ways to immediately improve your organization’ (or team’s) performance.

Each speaker will have 10 minutes – like a “TEDtalk” – to share a method, tool, or best practice that has helped their organization navigate challenging times and still improve performance.  We’ll hear from three organizations – a business, a health system, and a governmental agency (one each from Minnesota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin) – each previewing something they will share in greater detail at next month’s PENworks 2021 Conference:

  • Janelle Rauchman, Chief Quality Officer, River’s Edge Health Center on continuing the journey to excellence during difficult times
  • Matt Cornwell, Associate VP, and Marta Karlov, Ignite Manager, American Family Insurance on blending Lean, Design Thinking & Agile
  • Craig Smith, Division Director, South Dakota Department of Transportation, on improving communications

You will leave with at least three actionable insights that you can begin to use immediately to improve performance during these ever-changing times.  And you’ll also get a sneak preview of three (of the 23!) case studies featured at PENworks 2021.  PEN’s conference is September 24, with the theme of BACK TO THE FUTURE: Innovating Today; Imagining Tomorrow.  Early bird ends August 15; more information here.

This session is Thursday, Aug 19 from 8:00-9:00 CT (optional speed networking and mingling 7:45-8:00), using Zoom MEETING.  Grab your coffee and breakfast, and join us for a rich discussion.  Free for PEN/WCPE members; $20 for non-members.
