Amanda Schwerman is the Florida Practice Leader for Planning and Asset Management at Black & Veatch. She obtained her undergraduate and master’s degrees from the Colorado School of Mines in civil and environmental engineering. She is a self-proclaimed hydraulic modeling nerd and has completed over 70 master plans and planning studies throughout her career.
This presentation will include several Florida case studies where master plans and hydraulic models were used to prepare for emergency events. The case studies include water supply and pumping facility outages, major main breaks and interconnection usage. Using master plans to prepare updated emergency response plans, standard operating procedures and spare parts inventory lists will also be discussed.
