Presentation Title: A Convergent Antibody Response to a Specific Protein Antigen in Children with Kawasaki Disease
Presentation Description: Kawasaki disease (KD) is a febrile illness of young children that can lead to coronary artery aneurysms and myocardial infarction. This presentation will detail recent work by the Rowley lab focused on determining the causative agent of the disease, including the discovery of a convergent antibody response to a specific protein antigen in patients with the disease, and preliminary data regarding a candidate genome fragment of the putative novel viral etiologic agent.
