Compassion Resilience Training for Health Care Leaders

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a profound effect on the mental health and burnout rates of health care professionals across the country.

To help support health care workers throughout our region, Resilient Lehigh Valley and United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley are offering supervisors, department leads and senior level leaders training in compassion resilience – the ability to maintain physical, emotional and mental well-being while responding compassionately to the suffering of others – so they can put strategies and solutions in place to nurture their employees’ well-being.

Thursday, December 8, 2022
8:30 a.m - 4:00 p.m.
Lehigh University, Stabler Observation Tower

Health care organizations that focus on building compassion resilience within their employees often experience reduced staff turnover, increased employee satisfaction and productivity, improved staff morale and better patient outcomes.

Topics covered during the training will include:
  • Foundational understandings of secondary and vicarious trauma, traumatic stress, compassion fatigue, burnout and self-care
  • Personal and organizational drivers of compassion fatigue and strategies to reduce fatigue and burnout
  • How to build compassion resilience within individuals, teams and organizations

After attending the training, participants will be able to lead discussions on compassion resilience and ensure their employees feel supported by a their employer and the health care profession overall.
