February 16, 2023 VIRTUAL Presbytery Meeting 

Please join the Presbytery of West Virginia for the February 16, 2023 Virtual Presbytery Meeting, which will be held on Zoom. The Zoom room will open at 9 a.m. to allow participants time to enter and to troubleshoot technical problems anyone may have before the meeting's 9:30 a.m. start time. 

At this meeting, we will vote on the remaining proposed amendments to the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) Book of Order that were not voted on at the November Presbytery Meeting. For the educational focus, we will be joined by Therese Howell, member of the Rules of Discipline Task Force, who will provide details on the revision of the Discipline section of the Book of Order, which is the main vote to be considered.

Before the meeting, you are invited to watch the Overview of the Day: Highlights and What to Expect video, which will be posted on the presbytery website and emailed to participants no later than Monday, February 13. It is for all who would like to know more about the business of the day, but it is especially helpful for first-time attendees.

All participants are invited to attend a brief pre-Presbytery Zoom orientation at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 12. It will review information on being prepared, process, how to seek the Moderator's recognition, and voting. Participants who are unfamiliar with the Zoom platform are strongly encouraged to attend this orientation. 

The registration deadline is Sunday, February 12. Registrants will receive log-in information for the meeting on Monday, February 13. Please note that for this meeting, ALL participants must register individually so that the Zoom information can be sent to them in advance. Ministers and churches who need to request an excused absence should contact the presbytery office at office@wvpresbytery.org or 304-744-7634.
