Max Buzzell had a love of the bay, sailing, and SBJSA. Max was taken from us too soon. Max was a fun-filled, dedicated sailor, who sailed in college and looked forward to every summer on Sodus Bay. His family (John, Helen and Morgan) have enjoyed decades of tradition on Sodus Bay, as well as at the Sodus Bay Heights Golf Course. A portion of the proceeds from this golf tournament will fund the Max Buzzell Scholarship, awarded annually to a college-bound SBJSA sailing instructor. will support camp operation. The remainder will support camp programs.
The Sodus Bay Junior Sailing Association, Inc., founded in 1956, has produced generations of sailors who have learned to sail and race, and who have learned sportsmanship, respect for community, and environmental awareness. We provide an opportunity for local children to enjoy summer fun while developing lifelong sailing and interpersonal skills. We're focused on positive youth development by providing a safe environment, positive role models and quality programming.
It is important to keep that tradition alive. This tournament and our generous supporters help cover program expenses and keep camp tuition low so are programs are available to local kids who may not otherwise be able to experience the joys of sailing.
