Details for our July/August Summer Sizzler Series

Class will be held at the kitchen at Community Nursery School, 2325 Mass Ave in Lexington.

Classes are designed for a mixed age group of kids age 2.9 years-5 with an adult. It is mandatory that a parent or adult (over 18 years) participates in the class with the children.

We are delighted to include older siblings, up to age 7, for an additional charge. Siblings under age 2 years 9 months are welcome free of charge. Parents are responsible for overseeing all of their children.

Our class size is limited to 12 families, to allow as much hands on for each child as possible.

At each session we will cook, and sit down together to enjoy our lunch. The majority of our program is held in the air conditioned kitchen but we have an expansive outdoor playground to enjoy a picnic, or to take a break from our cooking.

Friday July 14 11:00-1:00 Pasta Party

It’s a pasta party! Kids will learn to make a pasta dough, just like the pro’s using semolina and durum wheat. We will knead the dough, roll it into pasta ribbons and then cut them into spaghetti with our hand crank pasta machines. As our pasta cooks, we will cut up some colorful tomatoes and fresh mozzarella. We will smell the basil, gently tear the leaves and toss with our pasta! Weather permitting, we will end the day on the playground with a surprise visiting guest.

We reserve the right to make a substitition to the menu, giving us the opportunity to take advantage of local products when available!
