2018 Gingerbread House Fundraiser

This fundraiser is a one-day event to support the organization's mission. The public is invited to watch the culinary challenge and vote for their favorite by donating dollars and cents. Guests will also enjoy exciting entertainment, a fabulous silent auction, pictures with Santa & Mrs. Claus and a fun-filled kid's gingerbread workshop.

    What division will you compete in? Refer to rules if you are unsure. ONLY the team captain should register. You are allowed a total of 3 people per team. The captain will be Aurora's contact person.

    Electrical outlets are available but limited. Please be advised that competitors maybe required to share outlets during the competition (depends on placement of team(s). Read Competitor Rules for more information about acceptable use of electrical tools. There will be a fee of $10.00 and you must provide your own extension cord. Will you need electricity?

Releases

  • By registering the “Competitor Application” and typing your signature below, you are acknowledging and agreeing to the following: 1. Competitors will be chosen by the Aurora Gingerbread Committee. The application must be fully completed by providing accurate information and submitting the appropriate entry fee. Space is limited. Applications must arrive no later than November 30, 2017.

  • 2. If competitors wish, their gingerbread showpieces may be taken home. Any showpieces left will become property of Aurora.

  • 3. All team members agree to follow named rules and procedures as outlined in the “Competitor Rules.” Should any team member disregard the rules knowingly or unknowingly, the team and their entry may be disqualified from the competition. If disqualification occurs, fees will not be refunded.

  • 4. Coverage of the event will include pictures and video for various media outlets. Therefore, photos and video of event, competitors and their entries may be used in a variety of methods internally and externally of Aurora, Inc. By participating in the competition, participants are granting permission to Aurora, Inc. use their personal image and image of their showpiece from the Gingerbread House Fundraiser proceedings.

  • 5. The Gingerbread House Fundraiser is a fundraising event for Aurora, Inc. All proceeds, including team sponsorship fees, will be used to continue the organization’s mission. Should the team make a charitable contribution beyond the donation for entry, the team must identify the individual who will receive the tax receipt at the end of the year.

Identification of showpiece

  • Competitors shall provide a Showpiece Title and Team Name upon registration in order to be included in the program. This is very important for the program and the visitors attending. Each competitor will have a Title Page and Competitor Number for the judging process supplied by Aurora.

Electricity will be available; however, you must indicate on their applications if this is needed. Outlets are limited and may be shared. There will be a $10.00 fee for those who use electricity, which includes any type of charging unit for cell phones, laptops, video games, or any type of electronic device. Competitors should be respectful of this. If you plan to use electricity, you MUST bring an electrical extension cord.
