Oregon and the Presidential Election of 1876

The election of a president has been resolved by the House of Representatives three times in U.S. history: 1800, 1824, and the last time in 1876. The election of 1876 took place in a bitterly divided country and was the most controversial in our history. Popular OLLI history teacher Susan Stitham explains what occurred and the role Oregon played.
