Our Day Habilitation Services is a person-centered program that provides individualized assistance to people with developmental disabilities and multiple disabilities, ages 21 or older, to help them become more independent in daily, non-vocational personal skills.

The AF Work Training Center is an onsite supervised workshop where participants are provided with meaningful, paid work through sub-contracted packaging and assembly work for the private sector. The Volunteer Services program allows participants to gain skills and community integration through volunteering. Individuals with disabilities can gain valuable hands-on-experience through the Job Shadowing Program through job exploration and training.

Donate proceeds to FUTURE STEPS PLAYGROUND CAMPAIGN

Help create the environment of "play" you once enjoyed with a gift to build an adaptive playground for the students at the Abilities First School in LaGrange, NY. The school serves over 100 children, from 22 school districts throughout the Hudson Valley region.

Donate proceeds COMMUNITY HABILITATION

Community Habilitation offers services to individuals who live at home with their family. Staff assists in personal care, meal preparation, money management and household skills. Respite and other family support are also available.

Service Coordination assists in referring and linking families and individuals to obtain an education, engage in all available and appropriate therapies, find valuable work and live to their fullest potential by engaging in the comprehensive services of Abilities First or other services available in the community. They also provide counsel and support for families and caregivers.

Donate proceeds to RESIDENTIAL

The Residential program assists individuals to attaining independent living situations whenever possible. Services focus on learning living skills, such as money management, cooking, shopping, and accessing public transportation. Abilities First’s residential facilities range from community residences with 24-hour supervision to supervised apartments with support staff on or off site to integrated living opportunities within the community.
