Spotlight on Local History: Katharine Drexel & the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament in Philadelphia

In this talk, Dr. Maggie McGuinness will discuss the ministry of St. Katharine Drexel and the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament in Philadelphia’s African-American neighborhoods. She will discuss how their work in urban neighborhoods opened a new chapter in the history of a religious community founded to evangelize in far off corners of the country.
