Workshop #1

  • Implementing a Defect Elimination Process Michelle Ledet Henley - Frontline Solutions, LLC In recent years, “Defect Elimination” has become a hot topic in the reliability world. But what exactly does defect elimination mean? How does it differ from other maintenance practices? Is it more than just a new way to describe planned and predictive maintenance? In this workshop, participants will learn about the 4 operating domains typically seen at manufacturing facilities and discover how each domain is defined by the organization’s approach to defects. Through the lens of Defect Elimination, interactive exercises provide a valuable new perspective on current maintenance best practices. Participants will leave the session with specific ideas for implementing a process to engage their entire workforce to deliver improved performance quickly by leveraging true Defect Elimination and to provide the management support necessary for sustainability.

  • 12PM - 4PM CST

Workshop #2

  • SMRP Best Practices Metrics Workshop Paul Casto, CMRP Abstract How do you know which metrics truly matter? The Society for Maintenance & Reliability Professionals (SMRP) Body of Knowledge and Best Practices, 5th Edition, are the basis for this workshop. In this workshop, you’ll gain insights into the latest thinking on maintenance & reliability (M&R) metrics. Attendees will learn how to use the metric hierarchy for linking M&R activities to an organization’s strategy. Using this proven process, M&R practitioners will be able to make the business case for reliability to operations & leadership. M&R best practices will be discussed, along with how the metrics align with SMRP’s five pillars in the Body of Knowledge. This hands-on workshop reviews the standard definitions & application of common metrics developed by the SMRP Best Practices Committee. Attendees will understand how to measure performance consistently, make valid comparisons & provide guidance to their organization on how to use SMRP metrics.
