* Required information

Meeting Information

  • Overview: Cybersecurity has become a hot topic these days. Decisions and issues that were once relegated to CIOs and their staff are now being contemplated by senior executives and boards. While the tools and methods used to protect our organizations have rapidly evolved with the times, the methods for assessing and communicating risk to decision makers have not. This presentation will introduce the concepts and benefits of quantitative risk analysis, including a primer on OpenFAIR.

  • Speaker: Apolonio “Apps” Garcia is the President and CEO of HealthGuard, a Cincinnati based IT security company that specializes in healthcare cyber risk management. As a small business CEO, Apps is responsible for overseeing all aspects of business operations, strategic planning, and product development. Prior to his careers in IT and business, he was a decorated Avionics Technician in the US Navy, and where he served under the 6th fleet command aboard the USS America and John F Kennedy aircraft carriers. Apps and the HealthGuard team now help healthcare clients apply business acumen to cyber security issues, by improving visibility, reporting, and decision making at all levels. He is a member of the DHS/HHS Healthcare Sector Coordinating Council, a Sector Chief for the Greater Cincinnati Infragard Healthcare and Public Health Sector, a strategic advisor to the Society of Information Risk Analyst board, and member of the Infragard EMP SIG cyber working group.
